An extremely good example of an Ercol rocking chair in the Chairmaker design, originally created by Lucian Ercolani in 1956 and unchanged since.
This is in excellent vintage condition, no cracks or dents.
Made from solid elm and beech, this Model 473 rocking chair features the Ercol signature fitting of legs through the seat of the chair to prevent wobble or breakage. There is particularly good grain pattern on the seat. The rockers are compact but the chair still has a lovely motion.
The seat is wide and shaped and very comfortable, even without cushions. The chair has the fittings to add cushions, but does not come with them.
