Table and two chairs by Ercol.
Both the table and the chairs were designed by Lucian Ercolani in the 1960s.
The square Model 393 table is particularly hard to find, and is a really useful compact size without feeling mean. It features a rounded edge, tapered legs and a lovely rack shelf under the table. Handcrafted in elm and beech with lovely grain and no cracks. It is in excellent vintage condition and has had the dulled varnish removed and been reconditioned to look as it would have when purchased.
The table’s details and proportions work perfectly with the two Model 319 stickback chairs. These are solidly built, with the trademark Ercol fixing of the legs running through seat to prevent wobble. They are very comfortable and have the 391’s detail of back spindles that run down past the seat at the back. Also made of elm and beech with particularly good grain detail on the seat.
